Patidarrang College is one of the premier institutes of higher education imparting education upto under graduate level in Nasatra, kamrup (R) district of Assam.It was established on the 31 st day of August,1989.The department of Bodo is one of the important departments in patidarrang College. It was introduced in the year 1992. The Bodo (MIL) as a subject was recognized by Gauhati University in the same year. Now the Deptt. Is offering B.A. Regular & Honours course in Bodo programme. The intake capacity of the department in Honours course is 20.

Vission of the department :
  1. To give educational facilities to the backward Boro communities of the entire locality.
  2. To impart quality education to the students.
  3. To provide the scope of higher studies in Boro language and literature.
  4. To encourage students to enlights Boro language,literature and culture.

To make Boro students aware with the Motto “Education is Excellence” of our department.

Objective:
  1. To give knowledge about the Boro language, literature and culture.
  2. To make them aware of the western & eastern literature which is translated into Boro literature.
  3. To encourage students to give their own contribution to Boro literature with their writings.
  4. To have knowledge about Boro writers creating great works.
  5. To teach students and make them know about the Devanagori script used for Boro writings.
  6. To make Boro students aware of the linguistics i.c Phonology, Morphology, Syntax and Semantics.
  7. To give knowledge about the sister languages of Boro.
  8. To educate students (who are not from Boro medium ) on basic folk language.
